Celtic Harmonies International Festival

On Sunday October 12th, Benoit will take part in the Celtic Harmonies International Festival / Festival international Harmonies Celtiques in the beautiful region of Knowlton and Waterloo, in Québec.  At 11:00 a.m., he will give a masterclass in Québec music traditional percussion – spoons, bones, foot tapping at the Knowlton pub.  Then, at 8:00 p.m. at the Waterloo Maison de la culture, he will emcee and take part in the final concert featuring an array of talented artists from different origins and background. Not to be missed.

The Ernie King Tradition Bearer Award, Goderich Celtic Roots Festival

On August 8th 2025, Benoit was awarded “The Ernie King Tradition Bearer Award ” “in recognition of his dedication to traditional music” at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron, Ontario.  The award was handed to him during the opening night of the festival by festival artistic director and general manager Cheryl Prashker, and festival co-founder Warren Robinson.  Founded in 1993, the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival was at its 33rd edition. 18th edition of the Canadian Folk Music Awards

I am more than happy to be emceeing the 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards concert nights which take place at 6:00 pm (Pacific time) on April 1st & 2nd in Vancouver, at Mel Lehan Hall of St.James Community Square. (9:00pm in Québec and Ontario) Again this year, I will co-hosting with Chelsey-June, of Twin Flames duo. 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards

I should have been in Charlottetown PEI this weekend to co-host, with Jean Hewson, the 15th Canadian Folk Music Awards. The event was cancelled (COVID-19) but the recipients will be announced tonight, April 4th, at 7 p.m. (EDT) in a livestream via the CFMA’s facebook page and website. I am in Calgary for the 14th edition of the Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMA).
